Sodium Hypochlorite Metering - Marathon/Thunder VS Others

Marathon has an alternative to sodium hypochlorite metering eliminating the need for dilution recipe and daily/weekly maintenance.


Solutions include pre-engineed Duplex metering packages locally designed, built and supported in Moncton, NB featuring Grundfos/Alldos self degassing metering pump technology DDI-P3 series. 


The following shows the Marathon/Thunder pre-engineered system equivalent to another product on the market. The system shown on the left replaces ALL of the cumbersome system on the right with added features and improved process operation while being operator friendly.

  •  Quadplex Soda Ash metering System featuring Grundfos/Alldos hydraulically driven metering pumps DMH series (Design/build).

  • Duplex Alum Sulphate metering System featuring Grundfos/Alldos hydraulically driven metering pumps DMH series (Design/build).

  • Corrosion Inhibitor makedown station featuring Lightnin EV series Mixers.

09-8663: New Maryland, NB Water Tower Project (New Award)

Marathon has been selected to provide the following equipment for the above project.

  • Marathon Engineered Duplex Water Recirculation System (Design/Build) with automatic control system.
  • Marathon Engineered triplex chemical dosing system for sodium hypo-chlorite featuing Grundfos/AllDos metering pumps.
  • Grundfos/Alldos residual chlorine monitoring instrumentation and controls.
  • Instrumentation and controls including:
    • Magnetic flow meters.
    • Digital chart recorder package.
    • Pressure transmitters.
    • Pressure gauges.

02-3204: WWTP WAS Pump Vertiflo Upgrade

Click to see larger imageFaced with increased maintenance cost and difficulty obtaining replacement parts of aging Chicago WAS pumps equipped with mechanical variable speed drives, this WWTP decided to upgrade to more compact Vertiflo 1600 Series 100% recessed impeller pumps with single mechanical seals requiring no flush water and variable frequency drives.
Pumping up to 5% WAS, the first Vertiflo unit was installed in 2003. Since then a total of four (4) units have been upgraded.
To date the only service parts required has installation has been one mechanical seal after the pump had been inadvertently operated dry for a period of time.
